A unique terroir,
a unique geography and climate,
an area historically suited for viticulture

Our terroir is not just soil, but the balance between geology, climate, insects, spontaneous plants, sunlight and our meticulous care.

A vibrant, constantly evolving ecosystem that lives only here. A unique and inimitable condition.

We are located in the Upper Valdarno, between Arezzo and Florence, where we benefit from an exceptionally suitable climate for winemaking.

Cold and harsh winters, alternating with typically Mediterranean hot summers characterized by significant daily temperature excursions.

These climatic conditions, together with well-structured soils enriched by Galestro and “Macigno del Valdarno”-a very friable rock composed mainly of sandstone, sand, clay, quartz and ferrite-create the ideal environment for the development of wines of the highest quality.

Valdarno Superiore, the first DOC born in 1716 - the first organic DOC in Italy

The Appellation of Controlled Origin “Valdarno Superiore” was formally born in 2011;However, its origins date back to 1716 with the edict of Cosimo III dei Medici, who was the first in the world to regulate production areas for quality wines.

He divides what were then considered the best wine-growing areas in Tuscany: Chianti, Carmignano, Pomino (now Chianti Rufina) and Valdarno Superiore.

An area rich in history, already active long before the time of Cosimo dei Medici, in fact the earliest evidence comes from the 1st century AD where Pliny the Elder indicates Valdarno Superiore as one of the best areas for viticulture.

Only in 2011 was the DOC formally born, the future goal: to become the first fully organic DOC in Italy
