Our Story

In the early 2000s, Andrea Cavallari, a Florentine composer fleeing the frenetic London lifestyle, purchased Podere Casa al Bosco, where he planted a small vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

It was there that his son Zeno, still a child at the time, came into contact with viticulture, developing a deep connection that would accompany him throughout the years.

After some time between London and Milan, Zeno realized that his true calling was winemaking. So he returned to Tuscany, determined to turn his passion into a life project.

The goal is to create authentic wines that are a sincere expression of the Valdarno di Sopra, a territory naturally suited to viticulture, characterized by significant temperature variations and clay soils rich in galestro and sandstone.

In 2020, Matteo Giuffrida, an entrepreneur from Milan, left the city and bought the neighboring estate.

A strong affinity was immediately established, and Zeno's vision was welcomed with enthusiasm.

In 2023, the new cellar was built and the first vintage bearing Cantina le Pietre's label came to life, together with newly planted vineyards and the beginning of a long-term development path.

In 2024, Delia Donato, Zeno's wife, also joined the project full-time, leaving her career as a fashion designer to contribute to the growth of the winery.
